Project Overview
Farmbuddy is a decision-making solution for farmers in India. It helps them to select the best suitable crop for a particular season and make the best out of it.
It empowers them by educating them on crops and farming techniques. Keep them up to date with weather, news, market, and new farming technologies.

Project Goal
-
Farmbuddy provides farmers with a comprehensive range of crop varieties that are suitable for their specific farm.
-
Guide farmers through a step-by-step process for growing healthy, high-quality crops, while also providing up-to-date market information, both locally and globally.
-
With access to real-time market prices, farmers can make decisions about when and where to sell their crops, maximizing their profits.

Problem Statement
-
The Indian economy derives a significant portion of its strength from the agricultural sector, which accounts for 20.19% of the country's GDP and employs 53% of its labor force.
-
Most of the farmers decide to cultivate the crops the same as their neighbor's farm or word of mouth which results in a surplus production that can lead to losses in profit.
-
Moreover, many markets in India remain non-digital, necessitating physical visits to sell their produce.
-
Additionally, crop agriculture in India is subject to a range of challenges, including loss of arable land, changes in weather patterns, and inadequate funding for research and development.
Solution
-
I have developed a user-friendly app designed to assist farmers with producing high-quality crops by providing step-by-step notifications.
-
The app also helps farmers determine the best crops to cultivate based on their current market value, providing the latest details on different local market prices.
-
Additionally, the app offers up-to-date information on current, weekly, and monthly market forecast details, enabling farmers to plan their produce sales strategically for maximum profit.
-
Furthermore, the app provides weather forecasts to help farmers prepare for any potential challenges and take appropriate actions.

User Research
In India, many farmers living in rural areas struggle to make informed decisions about which crops to cultivate on their land, resulting in low profitability in agriculture.
Traditionally, farmers have relied on weather predictions to plan their farming activities, which has often led to damage to crops and poor quality of production, resulting in loss of income.
Additionally, farmers face challenges in selling their produce as they have to search for the best market prices for their goods.
There is a critical need to educate farmers on smart farming practices and make it more accessible, engaging and profitable for them.
Qualitative Research
The target audience age ranges from 20 to 60 male and female genders.
